Works good. Noticeable scent of Shea Butter more than anything. Dries the hair out a tad. The hold is a weak medium. Overall it’s worth trying if you’re thinking about it.

Packed well with an ingredient list. Top of tin comes off very easy. The texture of wax is grainy and greasy. If you have wild frizzy hair i would say this might help with matting it down but if you are looking for something to help style your hair and keep it there, then this doesn’t have that hold power. It made my hair feel greasy and doesn’t smell good upon opening. Appreciate the more natural ingredient list though.

Smells great works great. I was using crew and had bad dandruff once I switched to HWG it literally slowed down the dandruff. Second order and I will continue to order.

My husband has very fine blonde hair and a lot of it. He likes it to have a little length but also wants it out of his face.He is pretty picky about his products, since his hair is so blonde, may products make his color look much darker, as if he hasn't washed it in several weeks.He really REALLY likes the HWG Grit, it is easy to distribute in the hair, easy to comb through, and it doesn't change the color of his hair. The scent is faint and fades as it is exposed to oxygen and sunlight (as rosemary essential oils break down). After 2 days of wear, there are some tiny flakes of the grit that have accumulated, but they are easy to comb out. The only thing he doesn't like about it is he wants more hold for while he's at work, so we will happily try the firm hold product that HWG offers after he goes through this tin.If you have fine and flat hair, do not expect the model's hair on this product page. This is a clean and mild product that works great for lighter colored hair and you get a good amount for a reasonable price.

This review is for Hardworking Gentlemen Medium Hold GRIT Hair Styling For Men, Semi-Matte Finish, Holds All Day, Satural Texture & Reworkable Style, 3 oz - Made in the USA.This is going to sound a little nuts but i use a similar big name product on my tiny dog to hold his bangs out of his eyes rather than cutting or tying up his hair. I’m not a fan of the scent that comes with that product. I was anxious to try this product to see if it would hold the hair as well as that product t because that one does the job great. That product is white and like a very thick sticky lotion.This product is nothing like that. This reminds me of bees wax. It’s hard and sticky. it warms in your hands but you are going to waste a lot of it rubbing it around in your hands because even warming it doesn’t liquify it. It stays stuck on your hands and doesn’t easily transfer to your hair. What does transfer brings with it these chunks of this stuff. It almost looked my little dog had large dandruff. I ended up picking the chunks out. It did slick back his hair but kept it softer to the touch than the other product I’ve been using. It also isn’t stiff like a hair spray or moose. But it also doesn’t seem to have the stay power that those products provide.The listing says UNSCENTED. Now for someone who has scent issues, this really isn’t true. Perhaps it’s not intentionally scented but it could be scented from the ingredients are not fully disclosed on the listing. The scent is a bit like rosemary and shea. There appear to be ingredients listed on the box that the tin comes in but the sticker with the code in it covers them and it’s impossible to remove to disclose the ingredients. Frankly these should be disclosed on the listing so you know what you are getting. The listing does tell you a few of the ingredients and says there are only 7 ingredients but I’m skeptical because there are no less than 4 lines of ingredients listed on the box. Unfortunately I can’t get the sticker off.The product comes in a tin can. Normally I like this but the lid on mine was too big for the bottom. It didnt **** down tight and you could just pull lightly and the lid would come off.This product may be made of natural ingredients (who knows) and may come in a nice tin (if the lid stayed on tight) and that might justify the just under $30 price but for me it is not a good value.

First of all, I know this product is intended for men and I'm a woman. But I wear my hair very short and the idea of something with reasonably clean ingredients and no scent appealed to me so I wanted to try it out.Fortunately for me, I'm familiar with raw shea butter and this product is a lot like using shea butter. Shea butter isn't very pliable until it's warmed up. To use this product, you need to scoop some out and roll it around in your hands until it has warmed up and softened to something more like a traditional hair product. If you just take some out of the jar and try to use it without warming it up, you will have a catastrophe on your hands or really on your head. Once you warm it up, you can smooth it through your hair and it will hold really well. Even my ornery stray gray hairs that always pop up after having been laid down nicely with some styling product seemed to behave better with this product smeared over them. You don't need a lot and in fact, to get medium hold you should probably use as little as you possibly can. I used enough to grease up both of my hands really well and then I ran it through my very short and very curly hair and it did a great job of controlling the curls and getting my hair to submit. While it was wet, it had a bit of sheen, but when it dried it was indeed very matte. I'd say it's really too matte for me. I want my hair to have some shine and this made it look really dry. Well controlled, but really dry nonetheless. It also made my hair fairly hard, but the amount I need for my curly hair is probably more than the target audience for this product would need. It will dry and harden though. Consider how hard it is in the jar and adjust the amount you use accordingly.I was concerned about my hair being greasy, but it wasn't. It just felt like it had gel in it. If the product had more shine, I'd use it more often. As it is, I'll need to find something to mix with it to give my hair more shine and a bit of a softer finish.If this product works for you, given that you probably don't need very much and even this small jar will go pretty far, it isn't unreasonably priced compared to the usual styling products I use.Random gripe: the bar code sticker on the box covered up the ingredients and made it virtually impossible to read what they are even after removing as much of the sticker as I could. MANUFACTURERS/SELLERS - don't cover up the ingredients list. There are three other sides of the box where you can put a sticker and block nothing important. Thank you for your attention to this matter. :-)

I've honestly never been a clay or pomade or hair wax user before, but this product intrigued me. I'll say up front that it does what it promises for a price that's in line with competitors. I like the natural ingredients. The pinewood-like scent in the container is a little strong, but not so much once it's applied to your hair. The texture straight out of the tin is like sand in honey, but when you warm it up in your hands, it becomes much softer and smoother. It goes on as you'd expect and I found it easier to apply sparingly with fingertips. The only thing I wasn't totally in love with was that it's not the kind of thing you'd want to leave in for a few days. On the plus side, it washes out and washes off your hands easily with warm water. Overall, they did a great job with this product.

This is probably the worst hair product that I’ve ever used. It’s literally like sand. When you try to spread it in your hand to put into your hair, it’s literally like sand and gravel. I tried putting it into my hair and it felt like sand in my hair and not even doing a decent job of holding my hair. I shook my head and rain my finger through my hair to get this gritty sand out. I don’t see a usage for for this product and threw it into the trash. The reviews for the other products of this company are good so I’m gonna assume they are decent products — I think making hair product gritty and sandy is just a poor idea.

OK, so I have to agree with some of the other reviewers; this will leave streaks in your hair unless you work it out really good, other than that, an all right product, but the best foaming cream that I have found I get from target see below just my two cents..

They have reduced the size from 3oz to 2oz in all product but kept pricing the same. Might as well go back to other brands that had dropped to 2oz as well.

Great product. Disappointed by the 1 oz less you get with it being the same price.

I got this shampoo for my husband & son. They prefer to use their own products, so they don't smell like my "girlie stuff". The fragrance is lovely. Masculine & refreshing. It's not overwhelming & doesn't smell like cheap cologne. Doesn't take much product & has a rich lather. Both my boys love the scent. Cleans well without leaving their hair feeling dry or scalp itchy. My son has severe skin allergies & is sensitive to a lot of scented products. He hasn't had any irritation or rash since using this shampoo. My husband has naturally thick, curly hair. This hasn't made his hair frizzy & his curls look healthy. Overall, quality shampoo that smells great.

I take mini trips a few times a month and this has been my go-to. It's easy to carry and it doesn't open or burst in my luggage. It is great and smells very good. It is filled with good oils and works well to remove any smudges and oils from my hair from the work. It foams up pretty quickly as well.

This shampoo smells great, and it's also not overpowering. I've had some other products in the past which are far too strong, and come off like colognes outside the shower. I like the subtlety of this shampoo. I also like the packaging, nothing flashy. I also really appreciate the actual seal on the bottle, something that seems to have disappeared in the major brands.I am a fan of this shampoo and believe it's worth the rating.

I got this for my husband but my son also uses it and they like it. It smells good, lathers and cleans well and doesn’t leave behind residue. It takes out wax product from my husband’s hair and he said it feels dry afterwards so I’m not sure if it strips it of oils but he said he likes it because it removes all product from his hair. They both said it’s good.
